The Times Square is quite magical and one of my favourite places in Earth! 🌎Full of colour and lots of noise, huge screens transmitting ads in almost all buildings, amazing stores and restaurants, people and more people everywhere, cars and taxis 🚕passing and honking, characters and street performers entertaining. It’s a must-see place for a reason. New York’s hustle and bustle can be captured and understood in Times Square.
From clothing stores to chocolate shops, the quantity and diversity of stores in Times Square is incredible. Of course I have my favourites and here is my top 5!
1. Line Friends
This store has lots of Line Friends character merchandise such as stationary, stuffed animals (really, really cute!) and many other things. It is my favorite because is the most different in Times Square. I had never been in any Line Friends store but I know that exist shops in other locations around the world (mainly in Asia).
The store is very funny and has areas where you can take comic pictures. Right at the entrance is a giant bear 🧸(the Brown character from Line Friends) with #NewYork on the paw that immediately catch the attention of the store visitors. It’s possible to take a photo with the bear but there is usually a queue inside the store for that. Prices are a little salty (a lot!), but even if you don’t have the intention of buying, the store worths the visit.

2. Disney Store
I’m a Disney fan and this store, has lots of magic 🌟. You can see all the characters known to everyone in merchandise products like Mickey, Minnie, Donald and so many others! There is an area of the store exclusively dedicated to New York. I confess, I got lost there… and I bought a a Minnie teddy dressed as a Statue of Liberty 🗽and a mug.

3. Hershey’s Chocolate World
Chocolates 🍫, sweets and candies, all over the store. At the shop there are several brands of chocolates which are produced at the Hershey’s factory like Kit Kat, Kissies, Reese’s, Jolly Rancher and others. I bought some watermelon sweets 🍬that are incredibly good. If they existed here in Portugal I was always buying (I’m glad not!).

4. M&M’s World
On the building of this shop there is a giant screen which shows films and images with the M&M’s characters. The store inside has so much colour everywhere 🟠 🟡 🟢and a smell of chocolate in the air (and even rhymed!). 3 floors full of chocolates and many merchandise products of the brand like magnets, mugs, cups, notebooks and even clothes. The store is very cute but, for me, it isn’t surreal because it’s similar to the one that exists in London (nevertheless it’s worth going there!).

5. Christmas in New York
This store it’s next to M&M’s World and has many Christmas decorations and it’s possible to customizing some with your own text. I love Christmas 🎄and this store too. If I could, I had bought the whole store, but everything is so expensive… 💰The cheapest decoration I saw there was a ball saying ‘I love NY’ which cost $6. Other custom decoration the value started in $15 I guess. But it’s a Christmas decoration from New York right?
