The New York travel planning

NY Planning Travel New York

New York City was THE trip 🚕. I dreamed about this trip for a long time and I will tell you the story behind the scenes. Around the time I was in ninth grade, my parents promised me that if everything went well when I finished university they would offer me a trip to New York. I did my part and conclude my master degree in 2018 (looks like it was yesterday!). They kept the promise and on August 2018 we went on the adventure to explore New York.

Preparation and Planning phase 📝

The travel preparation and planning phase is one of my favourites. I love to research and put together the travel itinerary without using a travel agency package. New York was the trip I dedicate most of my time planning ⏱️. It’s ridiculous to say but it took me almost two years in order to create the travel itinerary that I used there (ridiculous I know!).

I used several books, websites, blogs and even videos on Youtube from vloguers who shared their trip to New York. There is a lot of information! During this research I found two blogs that I recommend: “NY and About” from Marta Sacher and the “Blog of Laura Peruchi”. Two brazilian girls who went to NY looking for a better life and fell in love with the city.

It’s really important to build the itinerary taking into account two big factors: (1) the experience of other people that already went or live there and (2) what every person who goes with us on the trip wants to visit. I went on this adventure with my parents and my boyfriend.

After all the information collected, I marked all the points I wanted to visit on Google MyMaps 🗺️ (I share below with you). I divided into 4 areas: attractions, stores, places to eat and Central Park (it’s so big that deserves an area just for itself!).

NY has SOOOO much to see, do, visit and eat… It isn’t, for sure, a trip to rest. With a well-planned travel itinerary was possible to optimize our time in the “City that never sleeps”, go to the main attractions and even to all the places we wanted to visit. It was my favourite travel ’till now. 💝
